gkv CEO surprises each employee with a $200 BP gas gift card
Following a surprise Nintendo Wii™-themed summer competition among its 85 employees, gkv Chairman and CEO Roger Gray distributed $200 BP gas gift cards to each employee to help offset rising gas prices. The total company investment was approximately $17,000.
The surprise gas card distribution coincided with Memorial Day weekend, which typically sees some of the highest gas prices. Depending on the car model, make and usage, Gray estimates that each card should provide about a month's worth or more of free gas for each employee.
Instead of simply distributing the gas cards to each employee, Gray wanted to do it in a way that was fun for employees and showcased the agency's outreach capabilities through its GKV REACH social marketing division. GKV REACH utilized the Nintendo Wii as part of larger social marketing and mobile marketing unit programs to promote education products in Pennsylvania, healthy living practices in Arizona and most recently to showcase Maryland to residents throughout neighboring states.
